It's about time that I get to posting about Kolten's birthday party! We had such a great time! I must admit I probably went a little overboard, but it's his only 2nd birthday right? Kolten loves the Super Sleuths (if you don't know what I am talking about, it's the new My Friends Tigger and Pooh), so we decided to have that as our theme. We made each of the kids a mask and a Super Sleuth badge. Kolten has his signature T-shirt on that we made him and some super sleuth sneakers. We kept trying to tell him that he is 2 now, and he still announces that he is "almost 2."

My mom made this wonderful cake! She does such a fun job!

We played lots of fun games!

Birthday Boy!

It has been such an emotional week with Kolten turning 2. I was okay with 1, but now 2 just seems like he isn't my baby anymore. If you ask him how old he is, he will say "1, almost 2." It is too cute. He is such a joy in our home. He is a very energetic little boy that always keeps us on our toes. He loves to play any kind of game with anyone that will play with him. He talks so well and is constantly surprising us with new sentences and words. He is full of attitude and knows exactly what he wants. Unfortunately for him, Dad and Mom have to say no sometimes.

He loves art and doing anything like painting, coloring, playdough, stamping and drawing. He is a very picky eater and if he doesn't like something, he will immediately spit it out and say "I don't like it," or "I gonna choke." He is great at bowling and loves to bowl with anything. We have gone a couple of times and he gets such a thrill! His favorite TV shows are My Friends Tigger and Pooh, Curious George and Clifford. Much better than last years Doodlebops! He wakes up every morning and lays in bed with me while we watch one show and then he has had about enough cuddling and wants to get on with his day. He absolutely LOVES books. He is always toting one around and reading it. He memorizes what is in them and can tell you the story pretty well if it is one he has heard once or twice. We read A LOT for this reason. Grandma Bradshaw has given him a ton of books that the library was throwing away and so now we have a stash of new ones that we are loving. We go to the library every 3 weeks to get 20-30 new books and by the time they are due, we are pretty sick of reading them. It is a great way to get some more cuddle time.

Kolten sleeps very well. He takes a 2-3 hour nap each day after lunch and then goes to bed around 8:30-9:00 and will sleep for about 12 hours each night! He is still sleeping in his crib and has yet to climb out of it. I am going to keep him in there for as long as I can because I know as soon as we get him a bed he will be escaping it! Some of Koltens favorite foods are Cream Of Wheat, Gogurt's, any kind of fruit, COOKIES, pizza, hamburgers, ice cream, corn, string cheese, and chicken. (We really do eat healthy food too!)

He loves to be naked! If he could stay that way 24/7, he would. We are always redressing him. He is doing really well at potty training and loves wearing pull ups. He is very into hats and is always wanting to wear them. Most likely because his daddy is always wearing them. I love to do his hair, but he usually puts a hat on over it :(

Trevor and Kolten are best friends! Kolten loves to spend time with Daddy and it is always following him around. They love to play hide-and-seek and it is so funny to hear Kolten count and then say "ready, not, here I come!" Daddy and Kolten look so much alike, good thing I think they are pretty cute! Kolten loves his cousins. Every day he is naming them all off and wants to know where they are and what they are doing. We have to come up with some pretty creative stuff or else he will argue with you and tell you what he thinks they are doing.

It is so much fun being a mother and I am so glad that I have the oppurtunity to do so. I never imagined it would be so rewarding. I now understand a mothers love and it is so special to me. I used to hear parents talk about how much they love their kids and think that they were just saying it, but now I know exactly what they are talking about. We love Kolten so much and can't imagine a day without him. He is our everything and keeps our family so happy!

It's AWESOME!

I had to hurry and post this before I completely forgot it. Last night Trevor decided that he was going to make dinner. He made our favorite hamburgers! We went to say our prayer and Kolten wanted to say it. We usually help him say them and he will say the last word of each sentence, but this time he kind of went off on his own. It went like this....

"Heavenly father, thank for day, thank for cheese (the cottage cheese on his plate), and milk, and hamburger, and chips. It's AWESOME! Thanks for family together forever. Name Jesus Christ Amen."

Trevor and I were trying so hard not to laugh during this prayer, considering he was just looking at his place and saying thanks for anything that he could see. But when he said it's awesome, we both had to turn our heads and laugh! This kid is hilarious! He is talking so well and actually putting things together. I can finally have a short conversation with him and he will tell me things that happened. I love being a mom, (well except for the 20 time-outs we have to do each day!)

Always a PaRtY!

We had our neice and nephew over for the morning while my sister-in-law was at orientation! We decided to have a little fun. After having great pancakes for breakfast we did some art. Kolten is really into painting, coloring, and playdough!
Concentrating hard on which color!
We added some stickers to the fun!

After playing with those, the kids started to slide down the stairs! Trevor came up to see what was happening and said "Hold on!" Soon he came back with a slippery sleeping bag! He began to show the kids how to really SLIDE down the stairs. It was pretty entertaining to watch and the kids were having a blast~

Did you know that I am really raising 2 kids?

My very own FROSTY!

We had the missionaries over for dinner the other day and they needed to come really early, so we had dinner at 4:30. We usually don't do any sugar after dinner, but since we knew Kolten had time to wear it off, we went and got root beer floats and frosties! Kolten was in heaven. We kind of let him go hog wild on his own (had I been thinking, I would have not let him do this in a white shirt). He was a huge mess afterwards, but happy nonetheless!

Oh, my frosty is gone......
I will just have Dad's Rootbeer float!

Valentines Day Cookies!

My mother loves to get everyone together and do fun things. She is always organizing family parties and dinners. For valentines day, she thought that it would be fun for the kids to decorate cookies! Who could pass that down? We had a full house and a ton of cookies.

Mom helping Paige decorate!
My brother and his cute little tyke!

My Aunt Mary that is always up for FuN!

Can we say sugar high?

Trevor even got in on the action

We tried to get a picture of all the kids. This is the best one I got after several tries

Everyone was done decorating and off playing so we decided to finish!

I have a monkey on my hands!

I seriously do not know where Kolten gets his ideas from. The other night we had Paige and Peyton over and we were in the living room talking. We looked over at Kolten and he was just sitting there in this pose. I had to run and get my camera and have him do it again. The way his head and hands are bent look so weird. It was hilarious, and of course since he was getting attention from it, he was willing to do it again and again!

His other new thing is to swing from bars, tables, anything that he can. He loves it!

He is such a hoot! At the times when I am not getting frustrated for his terrible two stage, I am laughing so hard because he is so funny and full of character.
