Christmas 2009 FINALLY!

Finally posting about Christmas. We had a great Christmas this year. Kolten was so much fun! Bryton could have really cared less, but did enjoy his new toys! Since Trevor and I have been married, I have always taken care of decorating the tree. Every year he will hang out laughing at me while me and the tree share some nice time together with me saying some choice words at it. So last year he promised me that he would do the tree this year. We looked everywhere for an affordable flocked tree, the kicker is that he wanted a BLACK flocked tree. The only one that we could find was way beyond our price range that we were willing to pay for a temporary decoration. So he settled on white. It was great to see him decorating the tree and finally get some appreciation for what he had missed out on the last several years! It turned out great, dontcha think?

Our Christmas morning was great. My parents came over while we opened presents and I think they were a little surprised that Kolten had so many presents. It is just so hard not to get something here and there when you start shopping so early. He loved opening all his gifts and Bryton just liked being in on the fun.

His new ROCKY the talking dumptruck!

After our house, we went to my parents house and did more presents with the grandkids. Grandparents are so great!!

We finally made it to the Bradshaws where Connie surprises everyone with how many presents can fit into one room at a time. It was fun to have everyone there this year. This picture is of all of Kolten and Bryton's cousins on the Bradshaw side. Bryton's head got a little hidden, but this was the best picture we could get!

Overall it was a great Christmas!

Tow Mater Cake

I still have to post about our wonderful Christmas, but I don't have time to go through all those pics yet and so here is a little post.
Trevor and I have rocked out another fun cake. We are having so much fun doing these together! For my nephew Peyton that just turned two and absolutely loves CARS, we made him this Tow Mater cake. It was our first carved cake and I think it turned out pretty good!

All Smiles!

Our little Bryton is such a happy boy! I love that he is smiling all the time if you even just look at him. He is starting to almost laugh too and it just melts my heart. I have said this a million times, but he is such a joy to our home.

He doesn't really love the Bumbo yet, but he is holding his head up really well!
I know, cruel huh?

Temple Lights!

On December 18th we met up with our friends from Las Vegas, the Albrights, to go and see the temple lights! Trevor and Steve served their mission in Iowa together and have been good friends since. This was the first time we met their kids and they are such cute little buggers! Bryton stayed at my parents house to keep warm while we took Kolten along for the ride. The lights as the temple were gorgeous as usual although it seemed like there were less lights this year than previous years that we have went. Kolten loves to see the temple and thought the lights were "Santa Lights." We had such a great time and took a couple of fun pics!

50 and Fabulous!!!

My Mom's birthday was on December 8th. We had a big birthday party for her last Sunday at my Aunt's clubhouse. It was so fun to do this for her. She is one of the most amazing women I know. I definitely couldn't ask for a better mother. She has always been such a support to me and my family. She is the rock for everyone to lean on. She is so fun to hang out with and she always helps me with my crazy ideas that I want to work on. She is having a hard time turning 50, but I think she looks absolutely Fabulous!! Love you Mom!!

My AMAZING Mom and Me!!

Lots of fun!!

Bryton was in on the festivities too.

She is such a good Grandma! The kids love her so much.

I decided to make a cake for my Mom's birthday. When I came home and told Trevor he decided he wanted in on the fun. We worked on this cake all week long, a little here and there. It was a lot of fun to do together. It turned out great and we already have another cake that we are going to do together next week!

Proof that Trevor was involved! Just in case he denies it to anyone!

Bryton's Blessing

On December 6th we blessed Bryton. Trevor gave him such an amazing blessing! I absolutely love having my kids blessed. It gives me such a reassuring feeling. I love the gospel and the peace and comfort that it gives to me. I have said this so many times, but I am so thankful for Bryton. He is a healthy, happy baby! He is smiling at us now and it just melts my heart every time I see it. He didn't really know much about what we were all gathering for but during his blessing he didn't make a peep. We had a great luncheon at our clubhouse and was able to spend time with everyone that came. Thanks so much to everyone that came to show support and the other Priesthood holders that were able to stand in Bryton's circle. We sure have great families that are always there for us! It was such an amazing day!

Our Family of FOUR!!

All my boys in their matching ties and Bryton in his adorable tux!

SO MUCH FUN!!

Grandpa and Grandma Hicks and their grandkids! Peyton didn't want to get on the couch with the others and so Derek is behind the couch holding him up but trying to stay out of the picture....very entertaining.

Grandpa and Grandma Bradshaw with some of their grandkids! We were a little too late in taking this picture to get them all.

I swear that Kolten has me laughing hysterically almost daily. He brings so much fun and joy into our home. I can't imagine life without this little ball of joy! He has really been into learning songs and singing for the last couple of months. We read books and sing songs with him every night and since we only know so many songs, he picks up on them very well. He knows quite a few word for word and loves to perform for anyone whoe will listen. He thinks that it is the neatest thing when he hears songs that he knows being sung on the radio or at church. Here he is singing Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire and ABC's. It is really hard to get him to sing into the camera and stay focused so bear with us that he is all over the place.

Isn't that so cute?!?! I just love it!
